Join me as I begin my journey into the world of the minimalist! As a long-practicing Yogi (one who seeks divine union through meditation, yoga and ego transcendence), I have practiced simple living and non-attachment for many years.
Recently, I discovered The Minimalists, Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemas. I read their book Minimalism: Live a Meaningful Life, and was deeply impressed by the similarities between the yogic path and that of the minimalist.
I finished the book in one day, and started my journey into minimalism the following afternoon by packing up 2 floor to ceiling bookcases full of books to be sold. Once my pride and joy, these 2 or 3 hundred volumes were now just taking up space and collecting dust. Besides that, I’ve only read e-books for over ten years. Time to let them go!
I then started this blog as a way to record the process, and connect with others who are interested in the minimalist life.
I am grateful to Joshua and Ryan, and all of the other pioneers who have blazed minimalist trails so others, like myself, can follow in their footsteps. Wish me luck on this exciting journey!
Be as simple as you can be; you will be astonished to see how uncomplicated and happy your life can become.
